With summer quickly approaching, it’s time to do something about my sadly neglected feet! I would love to go get a professional pedicure, but time and budget just hasn’t allowed for it this year.

Of course I do my own pedicures at home as well, although I never seem to get the same kind of results I get in a professional salon. Great reason to do a search on Pinterest!

I came across a lot of pins about the “Listerine Pedicure” – here’s what it involves:

1/2 cup white vinegar
1/2 cup Listerine
1 cup hot water

Pour into shallow footbath and soak feet for 15 minutes. Scrub off dead skin with washcloth or foot brush.

Apparently it works great and the skin just comes right off! Why not try it?

I had all the supplies handy – I used the purple Listerine.

I thought the smell of the mouthwash might throw me off but really it just smelt……fresh. As directed, I soaked my feet for 15 minutes and hoped for a miracle!

The final result? Well, my feet smell minty fresh and my toenails look nice and white. As for the callouses, they didn’t literally fall off as promised. After scrubbing and then drying off my feet, I used a foot emery file, the same as I would usually do.

I did enjoy the tingle the Listerine created and this is probably more effective than just the normal soak I use with warm water and foot salts. Although not the magic fix promised, I would use this method again.

Much better!
