“Go to the winter woods:
listen there, look, watch,
and the “dead months” will give you a subtler secret than any you have yet found in the forest.”

I love summer, but…..

I truly am a beach baby, growing up spending my summers at the cabin – endless hours playing at the beach, my skin browned and my hair bleached blonde by the sun. Summer is still my favourite season – the heat makes me feel alive!

That said, there’s something breathtaking about fall and winter. Although I hate being cold, I love the visual beauty of those seasons. I’ve never found the words to describe it, but this quote does it perfectly:

“I prefer winter and fall, when you feel the bone structure of the landscape – the loneliness of it, the dead feeling of winter. Something waits beneath it, the whole story doesn’t show.” – Andrew Wyeth
